Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?
We offer a complete range of services from daily emergency callout, through fault diagnosis, installations, commissioning, routine and preventive maintenance programmes, machine moves, surveys and overhauls. Everything is geared to getting your machine working efficiently and maintaining your productivity.

What are your office hours?
8am to 6pm Monday through Friday. For out of hours, email us your requirements to
service@friedheim.co.uk and we will attend to them at the start of the next business day.

If my machine breaks down or I have some other emergency, what are your response times?
We offer a complete diagnosis and repair service, and can usually be on your premises within 24 hours of your breakdown, depending on your location, as we have field service technicians located throughout the UK. Our technicians carry van stock of commonly used spare parts, but once we receive your call, we can immediately ship a spare parts kit to suit your machine. This means that when the field service technician arrives, there is a comprehensive spare parts kit ready for use, once the fault has been diagnosed.

What about costs?
All of our work is quoted before commencement, so you can be sure that your costs are understood. For the spare parts kits, again you only pay for the parts which are used, although we do ask you to pay for the carriage for those parts sent out, and the unused parts to be returned.

Do I have to be an existing Friedheim customer?
No, but naturally the machine in question has to be one from our range which we supply and maintain. Our
home page, has links to all of our products.

What information do you need on my machine?
The make, model and machine number, and as much information as you have about the particular fault

What if my machine is under warranty?
We will carry out the work exactly according to our terms of warranty.

What about maintenance contracts?
We have a range of options for preventive maintenance to ensure that your machine is kept in the best possible condition. We handle all scheduling of maintenance work, and arrange convenient times for our engineers to carry out the work. Our packages all go to give you the peace of mind that the maintenance of your plant is under control.

What are my responsibilities regarding maintenance?
For some machines, organising routine preventive maintenance is simply the best way of maintaining the uptime and hence profitability of your machine. But for many pieces of equipment, particularly equipment such as guillotines where there is a clear health and safety responsibility, there are regulatory requirements for safety checks to which you must adhere. All of our engineers are fully trained on the latest regulations concerning your equipment, such as health and safety rules, and can advise you on both maintaining good practice and keeping within the safety guidelines.
