The alpha-plus operates by collecting and stacking the products and then delivering the neatly jogged stack onto a buffer table. The operator no longer has to knock-up the stack, he just removes the jogged stack from the ergonomically positioned delivery table. Furthermore, the alpha-plus can deliver without marking, ie, no smudging of freshly printed products, and its capacity can be fully utilised, even after many hours of production, without tiring the operator!
In order to reduce setting-up times, in most instances the machine can set itself up automatically. In addition, in order to considerably simplify the cleaning of the pressing rollers, as well as aiding the removal of double sheets, the pressing unit can be opened by pressing a button. And as with all Palamides delivery systems, the alpha-plus can identify waste sheets and eject them automatically.
The other fully automatic system offered by Palamides is the delta (502, 703, 705 and 1005), where rationalisation and the more cost-effective use of personnel is the key. As a result, a folding machine need not be operated by two or three persons, but only one, and on saddle-stitchers the removal of the stack can be carried out cost-effectively again by a single operator, even with 2-up or 3-up production and running at full capacity! Handling the banded packages is quick and easy, with the band merely serving as a means of depositing the products quickly, simply and efficiently!
The delta sets new standards for speed, format range and user-friendliness. With its running speed of 600 packages per hour per product stream, the delta outperforms all previous machines! Trouble-free sealing of the band is ensured with the inclusion of the sturdy and reliable electronic impulse welding system (EIS). Bundling is only carried out in the shaft in which the products are collected. This patented process ensures that even products which either spread out at the binding edge, are slippery or uneven can be processed neatly.
